How far would you drive

i had to drive 20 mins over my 4.5 to get to a safe place to stop as go stuck in stop start road works in leeds city centre last year…wrote on back of card why and never heard anything since… :sunglasses:

What do you call a Scouser in a suit ?

What do you get if you cross a Liverpudlian with a Pole?

Somebody who steals all the jobs.

Oh, about 10/15 hours maybe!

Do your company still have contract parking at switch island?
I only ask because you all seem to be parked there every week.

My mate should of got you instead of his brief
200 quid fine for 30mins over, and he had been held up at a motorway incident and had Chemicals on board to boot

As you say he had a poor solicitor. Article 6 covers this. I’ll look for a link to it, BRB.

Yeah i know it covers it, but its not as straightforward as ‘just write on the back’. Granted sometimes it is, but if they decide to look into it they’ll make sure you had no other options. i.e it really is an emercency.
Its been ages since i been pulled, when i did they used to just look at the card(s) in their hand and if they looked ok then you where on your way. I never seen them measure breaks or anything with an anylaser or anything. Now with the digi card it highlights anything wrong ! There’s no way i’m carrying printouts with half assed excuses on the back!!

I personally wouldn’t drive one minute over. Our infringement forms include a disclaimer at the bottom that we may be reported for the offence. So if i need to get home, it’ll be park it up and get a taxi home.
Writing stuff on the back off the tacho is not an instant disclaimer either, plenty have been prosecuted.

Jobsworth!!!

As opposed to a mug or someone who hasn’t got a clue what he’s doing, yeah i may just be

BRILLIANT but you could trust a scouser more than a jam roll

That would be difficult, we dont use P&O anymore. You must be mistaking me for someone else.

P.s, it was a joke.

Yeah i knew it was a joke. I didn’t realise you’d stoppped using P&O though. Did you read Brunstroms change of heart saying enforcement may not be good for trade using Holyhead!!!

I id and he’s right. Mny companies dont use Holyhead for that reason, which in a way has worked as they use longer boats where you can get a 9/10 hour break.

Also, was just reading in Commercial Motor about Norfolk Line stopping VOSA coming into port as it was affecting business. VOSA say that Norfolk Line have a ‘moral responsibility’ to ensure that trucks using its port are safe and legal. I think thats bonkers, it could extend to everything, petrol stations, services, workshops! They just provide a service. Would be interested to know other peoples views on it.

jessicas dad:
why didnt you just take you chart out then carry on.

If you take the card, its DEEP ■■■■, two offences without a doubt, conspricay to defraud is a serious charge :open_mouth:

You are better to leave the card in, and explain the situation, and, PRAY its your lucky day…

jessicas dad:

if you drive the same truck day in day out and did remove the card you would probably get done cos of the difference between the mileage on the day you took the card out and put it back in and this could have a more serious crime cos you new you have broken the law and admitted the guilt by doing

leave the card in till you have stopped and right on the back and sign it its you licence and as long as you don’t do it to often then you should be OK and if you do do it a lot it will be you and you TM in trouble.

in australia we’ve got logbooks that we have to draw lines in ourselves, except theyre only in 15 minute segments, so its not hard pull some time here and there…
