But I left there about 10 years+ ago!had a terrible record ,■■■■■■■■■■ in threats made too boss !I’m now told he’s not there and neither is any of the t.o bods ,so I’m dead tempted too put in for it ,but I don’t want to turn up at interview to be met with some hr bod with a dirty great file of my previous mistameanas whilst working for them ,be a waste of time.
So how far back do companies keep records of previous employees,wouldn’t normally bother but this job would just suit me now ta

Depends on the Company and what sort of benefits they have,like a Pension Scheme or discounts that last for the lifetime of a employee who has retired
HR will more than likely have records on file somewhere,if not you need to hope and pray that nobody remembers you and your past.
Skeletons and ghost`s have a habit of reappearing when least expected
Statute of limitations is 6 years so its very unlikely they keep them beyond that.
I wouldn’t worry about something that happened 10+ years ago. Just like the TO bods have left pretty much everyone who knew about it probably has.
When I used to interview people, I did not go first into the filing cabinets or even afterwards come to that.
It depends on how far back they expect you to go on the application form for previous employers. A false declaration would open the door for possible later dismissal against which you would have no defence.

Very good point. If you left that job of your own volition to go somewhere else just say that. Problem would be if they finished you. One thing you do need to consider though; are you certain that everyone you ■■■■■■ off has now moved on? If I was the new boss and something like this came up, I’d be tempted to casually consult someone who’s still there, something along the lines of “You were here back in 2000, do you remember so-and-so?” No need to let any cats out of the bag but the response may either make or break your application. It may well be that one of your fellow drivers remembers you with something less than total affection, and since he’s the one you’re going to be working with again, if that is the case then you may be sunk.
I’ve mentioned this before, but what a CV does not say can tell a prospective employer as much, if not more, than what it does. Whatever the case, do not tell lies on it.
Just hope they have taken down the ‘Not Wanted’ poster of you.
