Unless something changes beforehand, i shall be trecking across Europe in June and July by myself, will be starting in Sweden, then to Finland (Tampere) then empty to Norway (Oslo) as the gear will be flown to Reyjkavik for a concert and i will pick it up again at Oslo then do a concert there, then to Denmark (Aalborg) GB Belgium Greece (Athens) Bulgaria (Sofia) and Turkey (Istanbul) and maybe a Czech thrown in for good measure, then back to GB for 2 concerts to finish the tour.
I thought i’d ask this early rather than last minute, what i want to ask is anyone know how easy it is to get into Finland (will be sailing from Stockholm as far as i know) and how easy it is to get in to Bulgaria (will be going North from Athens, is Bulgaria now in Europe? if so not a problem) and same question for getting into Turkey.
I will be taking my camera!!
not really sure about your questions mate - finland couldn’t be easier as it’s EU and same for bulgaria, presume you’ll have ATA carnet covering the gear into iceland and norway?
one tip, make sure you get a turkish visa sorted in london, half the places you used to be able to get one (like komotini in greece) you now can’t - had a close shave last month when turkish embassy in plovdiv refused to issue visas for 2 or our blokes, it was only that the young lady at the factory in ankara managed to persuade them eventually
Yes jj, will have ATA and boss will sort out the visa for Turkey no problem.
Finland is no problem as its EU - people are a bit weird though, probably sunlight deprivation.
If youre heading back from Tampere down to Germany the Finn Lines ferries sail from Helsinki (Sampassorei) to Travemunde every evening (i think) about 1800. Good ferries with superb accomodation and unbeleivablely good grub - if you travel with them tho, be sure to ask the reception desk when you board NOT be have to share with any Russians or East Europeans, they will understand!!

The ships are great and normaly the service is first class
beers prices a little steep, journey times are now
shorter, check fuel prices you may find that its cheaper
to fill up in Finnland ,■■
Here is a little something while you are hanging around kindle . Expand & Rotate , Rev it up & go to sleep…
Bulgaria no problem, now in the EU Athens/Salonica head towards Petrich good parking on the Greek side at the border and when you cross over into Bulgaria get the road tax for the week then up to Sofia.
I suspect that the Turks may still be up to their old tricks…
Sounds a doddle then! thanks, and harry, its not as good as driving the real thing, but nice to see how it works!

By the way Kindle you will enjoy Tampere, it’s a beautiful city. That’s over the other side of the country to me, but there is a Trucknet member “Kyrbo” who is at university there.
im guessing mate from stockholm will be up to kappilskar for a boat to finland, but probably return overland as much as possible (which is the norm unless you need a break)
god knows about turkey cos i aint been there yet, but still hoping it will be on for me this summer!
I heard you will be going there with miss Minouge mate? Ive got ■■■■■ as my double driver, all sorted.
Tour is going a bit further and lasting a bit longer now.
