How do I get a replacement National CPC?

Many moons ago, 1980s, I passed the test and gained a National CPC. Several house moves later I can’t find It.

How do I get a replacement and where from?

Hi if you go to the small fleet and owner driver forum on here ( second one down i think without checking ) and click cpc links i seem to remember a link to the rsa site where you can apply for a new certificate.

yes the link is here .ocr.org.uk/download/admin/oc … p_form.pdf

You need to have a rough idea of when you took the exam and also the name of the examination centre, and about £30 iirc

Thanks for the replies. I seem to recall doing the course, early 80s, at Hargreaves training in Manchester. The venue was an upstairs room in a pub in Boothstown with the exam being taken on a Friday at a college in Manchester.

Anyone remember this 'cos the request form needs as much detail as possible?

I “lost” mine during a house move to another Continent and looked at replacing them but as I have not needed them to use in anger for a while just never got round to it. I can sort of remember details and the rough year, around 1984.

BUT. I wondered if the TAN or TC or his minions kept copies as they used to stamp them on the rear to say they had seen the certificates. it would make it easier to trace with the copies.

i somehow don’t think they will need to know that you did the training in a room upstairs in a pub :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

they will need to know where you took the exams and roughly when you took them

Hi Rob, you’re spot-on mate…

The training venues for the operator CPC aren’t important, because it’s possible to do home-study or be tutored privately.

The exam venue is important, because that’s the only area of the whole course that’s specified and monitored.
Each OCR (it used to be RSA) approved exam centre has a unique code number. This does help in the search for proof of qualification, but failing that, then the exact name of the exam centre is a good starting point.

I went through the same thing a few years ago. Unfortunately they aren’t able to issue you with a replacement CPC, just a certificate to say that you sat and passed the CPC exam. I got mine through RSA having supplied them with the venue and date the exam took place.

An interesting post, thanks Qhunter. I shall save my money until I need to use it if I have nothing to hang on the wall
