Did anyone see or pass the bulk tipper that had lost it’s load on the N/B M1 at the M18 junction yesterday? I passed it just as they were scooping the last bits up off the motorway and judging by the stench when I passed I presume it was carrying offal or gibblets from the knackers yard?
It looked as though his tarpaulin was fastened down and secure but some of the load looked to have escaped over the top of the front of the tipper and the truck hadn’t gone over from what I could see so I was a bit bemused as to how it could have happened.
It’s normally when they brake too hard ,there was one on the A50 last year got most of the offal on the road and cat walk ,it comes over the front of the body ,I did hear they’re supposed to have a front piece under the easy sheet to stop this .p.s I drove through the offal !
I wouldn’t like to clean all that up I’d be spewing mi rocks up as soon as I got onto the scene. I bet the crows have a field day when summat like this happens
I was behind a demulders tipper the other day and it honked terrible,it must be hard at first getting used to that smell following you round all the time, sticking to your clothes and skin, uuuuurrrrgggghh
Imagine a night out…

Id have to drop the trailer somewhere, its not fair plonking next to somebody for very long, lets be honest nobody will nick it
There was similar on the A1 Nr Ripon a few yrs ago - whilst they were doing the up-grade … truck had obviously braked sharply and load had come forward over the front of the trl … you couldn’t see the back of the cab & catwalk of the unit … the load was semi-liquid ( guts etc ) … felt sorry for the poor Firebrigade, called out to hose the road clean.

It,s not law but when we moved fish gut we fitted splash plates on the front covering 5 foot just incase of an overshoot

I’ll bet even traffic lights change quicker
20 years ago when I was a grease monkey we had a bulker on that work. It loaded in Rugbey to tip the same night in Lancaster, now and again the driver would run out of time so would bring it back to the yard and tip it the next night.
Anyway one day this did happen and it stud in sun light all day long in July, we look out of the workshop and we all said John loaded that well last night look at the hight fat sheet? Yes we said so we took a walk over and then knocked on the body, its sound empty I said. Well the gases had lifted the load. ■■■■ get a unit and get it to Lancaster NOW.
So grab the key to any old F7 and got on my way to meet one of our other guys that had tipping gear on his unit.
Well we did not need tipping gear becase when we opened the bulker door it was just like one big ■■■■ like you have never heard in your life, all but the last bits came out and and it was that fast it all ran down the yard and not into the hopper.
What a smell it was Lol, thank god one of the boys were we was tipping knocked the ring up to let it go.
Cheers Welly

Our company takes all the crap ie. heads, offal etc from the slaughterhouse to a company that burns it and makes electricity to sell to the grid.
