After all the hours and hours and HOURS of research and private time looking up answers to questions I didn´t even know was going to need the answer to, I am pretty much played out. Not kiddin, probably 3-4 hundred of hours or more.
I only just found out today, today, that a “day” is a 24 hour period that starts at the last time you clocked on.
Me and my driver Mohammed discussed this exact same thing today. He understand it perfectly well whereas I dont.
Mohammed has worked with it for the last two years.
Has he been trained in it? No. He´s learned it as he went along.
Pffft.
CPC needs to include tacho training.

Absolutely as any night trunk driver knows 5 night shifts = 10 days work according to the dates required on the tacho.
It is easy to moan about it but there is plenty of info and guides online. Once you start using a tacho it soon falls into place

Couldn’t agree more!
Even though there’s that much variance in quality of CPC delivery a module on tacho use in real life would go a long way to help
I remember when I first started an old ■■■■ ( well he was a couple of years older than me so still an old ■■■■[emoji6]) told me to forget about Days and switch brain into hours when a tacho is involved
Didn’t know what he meant at the time but then after actually starting to use one it clicked and he was spot on. Think in hours and you won’t go far wrong !

It does. As a new driver you’re asked questions about EU drivers hours in your theory exam. DCPC modules include EU Drivers Hours Regs and its your fault if you didn’t choose to do that.

Yep, and I reckon I´ve been through most of em Used me virgin card for the first time today. Because of all the online reading I´ve done this last month or so, it was easy
Click click click, manual entry, click job done. Carry on driver.

Well, mebbe it´s not ALL mine, I didn´t actually get to choose the modules I did for the 35 hours. But I am well versed in passenger safety, comfort, and also in the Equality Act of 2010

You are using 2 cards in one day though, like the old days [emoji23]

When I first found out I could (try) and get me old class 2 back, about 3 months ago, I started the procedure, and I started the research. And I found this place.
I moved into the granny flat
BTW, the flue needs sweeping!
Made me laugh thanks. Needed cheering up, on the journey from hell. Aberdeen to Donny

You´re welcome.
And I noticed you edited out the “Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk while driving” bit?

Maybe but the fact that you’ll need to put two different dates on the tacho for one 10 hour shift from 8 pm until 6 am stands.Unlike 8 am to 6 pm.
