May seem like a bit of a noob question but it’s one I’ve never got a straight answer on in the real word. My shift started at 6am, so far I’ve tallied about 3-4 hours of break (waiting for a customer to open and now a blow out) does my shift still have to end at 2100 ?
Yes mate, 15 hrs max

Last week 1.
Fitter hasn’t even got to me yet. He went to cobham services on the M25. I’m at the services just past cobham on the A2
If you’ve had the tachograph on break for 3 consecutive hours or more you can do a 15 hour spread-over whether you have a reduced daily rest available or not.
As others have said you can’t legally extend the spread-over to more than 15 hours because of a breakdown, in fact you should be parked up now (21:02).
Unfortunately I’ve had to move a couple of times, the longest period of rest it was on for was 2h21m.
Lorry is parked up and I’m now waiting on out of hours driver to finish the call out he was on and to come and get me
It’s not likely to happen but if you should bump into DVSA don’t tell them you’re getting recovered back to base or home, technically the travelling time is counted as other work for the regulations.
Given the circumstances I’ve no idea if they would actually care or not but there’s no point in putting them or yourself in an awkward situation

If you have a reduced daily rest period available (9 hours) the maximum time from the start of the shift to the end of the shift is 15 hours (15 hour spread-over), that’s because if you go over 15 hours you won’t be able to fit a 9 hour reduced daily rest period into the period of 24 hours from the start of the shift.
I like the tyres, is it a new tread design
