how long can I keep going before I need a full 45hrs rest?
As I was expecting to be off tommorrow, and work later this week, but due to holidays etc. I`ve been asked to work in the morning
A full Weekly rest must be taken at least every 2nd week
In any two consecutive ‘fixed’ weeks a driver must take at least:
- two regular weekly rests; or
- one regular weekly rest and one reduced weekly rest.
Note: Other weekly rests of any type may be taken in any two consecutive ‘fixed weeks’ in addition
to this minimum requirement.
The following is an example of how a driver’s duties might be organised in compliance with the rules
on weekly rest, which allow two reduced weekly rest periods to be taken consecutively. This complies
with the rules because at least one regular and one reduced weekly rest period have been taken in two
consecutive fixed weeks.
Example:
Week 1
45 hrs rest + 5 days work
Week 2
24 hrs Rest + 5 Days Work + 27 hrs Rest
Week 3
5 Days Work + 45 hrs Rest
A weekly rest period that falls in two weeks may be counted in either week but not in both.
However a rest period of at least 69 hours in total may be counted as two back-to-back weekly
rests (e.g. 45 hours’ weekly rest followed by 24 hours) provided the driver in question does not
exceed 144 hours’ work either before or after the rest period in question.

Saturday and then if you are pulled, the question, will be. You don’t do much do you?
You should start a full weekly rest of at least 45 hours no later than 07:00/07:15 Sunday, this allows for 6 twenty four hour periods from your starting time of 07:00/07:15 Monday 30th March.
Thanks folks, for the replys, up to saturday is ok then

You don’t do much do you?
Tbh, I dont do much at all, especially with this new prison
s delivery contract, theres a hell of a lot of waiting around. An hour or so each way, 10-30 mins to tip dollies & tote boxes via a tail lift, several hours sat doing nowt (watchin` TV etc), 10-30 mins to re-load the empty totes, then back
