Once a week, once a year here in Cornwall you cannot drive from Redruth/Camborne to Falmouth/Penryn (A393)- this is fine since the Horsey/Agri world descends on Stithians Cornwall.

My issue the Police are hired by this faction and as of last week purpose built blue plod handmade signs appear within a10 mile radius warning all who can read and drive that this ancient event is soon to come to pass. Great tourism Cornwall 101-BUT for the reason all this temporary infrastructure is deployed-the postal code is going to be inundated with not primarily happy cash heavy tourists but overweight-unlicenced (both operators and vehicles) horse wagons and trailers that are directed by smiling (overtime heavy) police personell and not a VOSA enforment officer in sight!

This really ■■■■■■ me off. Does any one else have a similar issue elsewhere? If I wanted to have a Truckers rave at a farm that gave away red fuel and good Moroccan hash as door prizes would Devon &Cornwall constabulary be so accommodating? I think NOT!!!

Although to be sensible for a minute, they do regularly pull 7.5t horseboxes into junction 27 for a little chat
The 7.5T wont be overloaded in my experience of horse moving, its the stupid young girls in tight jodpurs that need their heads looking at, driving a Toyota rav 4 with a twin horse trailer and two sizeable horses inside , they are the ones who need prosecuting!
it’s a one day show ffs we have one in Honiton every year so a lot of horseboxes and cattle transporters go, so I assume you believe that these will be all running on red and not using tacho’s ect!!! now I am not saying that some might not be, if they require them at all but 99% will be perfectly legal, as in any business there are good and bad, and as dennis already said vosa do pull these at 27 quite often been pulled in mine before, so don’t quite understand your problem 
Whao there Partner there are hundreds of these immune/exempt wagons and trailers converging on one postal code escorted by D&C finest-the ruse here is if VOSA did do an inspection they would have to cable the wagons/trailers/arrest the operators and then put up a corral for all the cargo! But no just let them carry on!?! Next time I am running over weight with no digi/cpc card is am going to put HORSES decals front and back and drive straight thru from Penzance to York- Okay with you?
Vosa do pull horseboxes and regularly terminate their journeys! I am a horse transporter who is regularly called to leatherhead to collect horses from people who have fallen foul of vosa in a big way.

I can imagine you doing the "Mutley laught/shuckle as you get the phone call from VOSA…fine that is on your patch but down here on Charlie’s patch (the Dutchy of Cornwall) they are all exempt! May be you should set up an office down here and bring your VOSA connections with you and rid us of this scurge?!?

If vosa paid us it would be easy. Unfortunately it’s the people who meet the green cable who pay. Vosa are just kind enough to point out I am the nearest transporter and where my number might be found!!! The biggest chuckle comes from the breakdowns! My best so far is pau in the south of France. Round trip mileage ferrys and tolls paid on receipt of invoice!!! All because people don’t like towing loaded horseboxes any more!! It’s a changing market, you just have to stay in it!!
