Well we’ve been looking for something ,small, sporty and newish, but even though sheliked some they did nothing for me,so we looked around and we both liked the look of the type-r,now we looked at the latest shape and neither really liked it,so we’ve looked at the previous model,05ish and both like them, loads around, lots of tacky ones but a few nice genuine cars,so type -r with a reg plate with her initials is o.k for here to use now and again.
Any one had one, pitfalls etc,I’m guessing its Japanese so should be reliable, fast I hope .thanks
best thing to do is to get on civiclife.net, i have a civic vti estate myself, i think it’s brilliant, some people don’t (what’s not to love about a fast estate ), i’m not clued up on the civic type-r of that era (known as ep/7th generation) they do have issue’s, but that’s down to poor prevoius owner’s hammering it in the wrong condition’s (engine cold / poor service history), if you do get one, don’t expect A/C, as it was a 1k option from new, and get one with full service history and you should’nt go wrong.
Just be careful in what you buy most type r’s are owned by young lads so ragged about a lot I’ve drove a few and yes they are fast good for a laugh bit like driving a go-kart

Ta,been looking at a few forums,
I have a old 93 civic which i prefer to the newer one’s, its not a type r or anything special but its nippy for what it is and does 40 mpg. the newer type R’s have launch/traction control standard
