A few years ago I was having a late drink in a gay bar with a lad I went to school with.
He was a barman there and we were chatting about school and how he suffered from
bullying.
He told me that he regularly sees some of his now married tormenters enjoying
a little mano y mano trist,and that when they speak to him they beg him not to
say anything.
I pressed him for names but he would’nt tell me.
I always wonder how many homophobes are just hiding behind their remarks.
Very sad about the young man in the article,his family must be devasted.

Why is it when I saw your name Pavaroti as the latest post I fully expected some idiotic crap like that. You don’t disappoint I’ll give you that.
Bullies come in all forms whether in school, college or the workplace. As soon as anyone is REALLY affected by their taunts, jibes and abuse the clam up or deny it ever happened.
Someone I know was pushed to their breaking point at school and was only bought back because the last incident happened in an area that had CCTV recording. The bullies denied it all the way up to viewing the video-tape and were even ‘swearing on the bible’ that it was the truth.
Bullies do not have to hit you to hurt you, the psychological side can run deep and long and affect people for the rest of their lies.
As for the lad in the article, some teens are more fragile than others, aren’t they! Dyslexia doesn’t help either, and slow to give a suitable retort to most conversations will oust him from the group whether he likes it or not.
Take the ■■■■ all you want,I have some great mates who just happen to be gay.
What’s the problem with gays 99.9% or them are just normal people. Maybe a tiny minority want to make an issue of it but you meet plenty of hetro people who are complete bell ends.
They’re living their life the way they want to. If they’re brought up right then they can end up being a positive open life with no worries about what people think of them. However, bullying can affect them for the rest of their life, leaving them with poor self esteem for decades until they get over it, if they get over it.
