Homo Faber's collection. Vol. 0 (test)

Right gentlefolks…
Some time ago I realized that I have lots of stuff on my harddisk just lying idle and that I should perhaps make it publicly accessible as somebody else can find it interesting or even useful.
I have not yet worked out the best way to share my trucking stuff; all options are still on table and some tests are needed.

So, here is first batch of pictures, really just to see if and how things work this way. If you see no picture at all, accept my apologies, I’ll fix it (if I can).

N.B.: the pictures will bear a watermark, for a good reason. Full size pictures without watermarking can be provided upon request.

First comes a handful of pics taken by my brother (who is OK with me publishing them) at truck fest Truck Arena in Piestany, Slovakia, last weekend (20th-21st June 2009).

“Northern Star” from Czech rep., late evening arrival…

…and in sunlight

Races and competitions were also on:

Brand new FH16-700, 8x4 heavy tractor, straight from Sweden:

BTW, that Trabant, restored by few friends of my brother, has interior finished in orange plush, remotely controlled door locking and opening, tuned engine…

I was also in Slovakia that weekend but attending a wedding in Bratislava; so pics I was taking were of different nature. BUT, circumstances constellation was very good on Sun morning when we flew back to UK and I finally had very good opportunity to shot one of aircraft refuelling trucks at the airport in B’lava. I hoped it would be one of those Liaz things but it was only a Scania…

Sure, afterwards I had to have a chat with a man in charge of hi-viz vest who made sure I understood that I can “…only go as far as THIS yellow line!”. :exclamation:
“Sorry, I did not know…”
“Now you know” :exclamation:
“Yes, but to me THIS yellow line looks exactly the same as any other of these yellow lines around… I’ll probably make similar mistake in future”
He put on seriously angry face; must have thought I was kidding him or something :grimacing: ; so I rather boarded the plane.

And there are also extra wide buses that take you 100m from airplane to terminal building and back…

THE END.

(is it gonna work?)

Blimey, it has worked!

So there’ll be some more if you don’t mind

They are good photos, keep them coming :stuck_out_tongue:
