Homemade driver aids

Hippo:
Can of Lynx works in fuel pump handles as well

Ahhh, so that is what its used for…

All becomes clear

In the days before cruise control, a suitable length of wood!!! :unamused:

I’ve never had ‘Driver Aids’, or any other sort of aids come to think of it :open_mouth:

I have this exact one, very useful and easy to use.

+1

The other plastic RHA one shown is junk that’s too weak for the weight of long damp straps.

After an anti-syphon attachment was fitted to the top of the fuel neck, the space between the body and the tank was reduced so the nozzle wouldn’t stay in the neck, had to hold it.

So, I tied a piece of shock-chord [thick elastic] between two of the curtain buckles. Pull it down
under the nozzle and, bingo, there it sits!

Any ideas how I can stop my underbunk dead ■■■■■■ from going off,
Its really annoying when they start to go gloopy. :smiling_imp:

always had the end clamp off a cheap small set of jump leads for holding the diesel pump catch open
just used it the opposite way … worked every time

I use a pop rivet :sunglasses:

That’s only good when the hook is ok. Often the hook bit is worn out…I use a block of wood to
hold the trigger.

Stick a mirror on the passenger sun visor then use it for wide angled vision when ‘blind side’ reversing.

I use a broom handle under the steering wheel to operate the brake pedal whilst checking lights. Hazards on, brakes on, headlights and fog light on, just one trip to the back to look…
Cheers

I use a broom handle …

Used the same as a cruise control and to take the ache out of my right ankle on my old ERF A series when first started driving:)

Ive got one of the extending painters handle doodahs, perfect for shoving overhead phone lines up just that bit more when unloading or loading generators when you get. asked to put one under phone lines.I also use it for shoving the n/s mirror back out in narrow lanes

Although I wonder if I could use it as a telescopic fishing pole when im working by lakes

i made up a way to pay for foreign toll booths while in a right hand drive truck,so i did not have to get out of the cab to pay the toll.
A long piece of bamboo stick, with a mug attached,a clothes peg so they stick the receipt, and the mug for the change, job sorted, had many laughs at the peages.
Made foreign language notes for each country i was in transit,so they knew what to do,a bit lazy, but when you may stop 20 times a day it saves a lot of time.
