My truck home comforts are TV/DVD on an inverter, 24v microwave, fridge, kettle, toastie maker, coffee maker, inflatable woman (OK I lied about the last one)
In fact I sometimes wonder why I want to come home at all (yeh lying again)
Never had any battery problems, but I always microwave on tick over.
Basically I buy anything and all the stuff that benefits ME…ie. Not a Spotlght or Kelsa bar in sight.
But two duvets, one for winter with a high Tog factor and one for summer, with a low tog factor.
A washing up bowl for shaving in and doing the dishes.
Camping gaz cooker,Fairy Liquid, cutlery, and food cans from Lidl and Aldi such as sweet and sour chicken, chicken in white sauce, noodles .
Dried milk powder for tea or coffee, and it lasts longer with no cab fridge.
Foam ear plugs for noisy laybys and trailer changeovers at truckstops.
Ask the boss to sign up to Snap, the driver does not pay to park, it is on account.
Medicine kit for stomach upsets and headache pills.
Basic tool box to change light bulbs.
Spare clothes, underwear, jump start cables for flat batteries.
A truck sat nav and atlas with low bridges in for back up.
Sunglasses for low sun glare.
Baby wipes and sterile hand gel.
laptop/tablet, satnav, mobile phone and fridge box. Satnav on all day, fridge on for last couple of hours of the day, then on tickover once parked up, laptop charging through the day (if required) then used on internal battery when parked up, and phone as required. Never had a problem with batteries.
Enjoy

Where did you get your 24v microwave from and is it any good, I could have done with one of those. Not going to be much use now like but you never know what the future holds.

I’ve had it about 10/11 yrs or so mate, it’s a Samsung not sure of the model but it’s black if that helps , it still works fine and never missed a beat. It was bought for me when I used to work for a GOOD firm, along with the 24v fridge, as ‘compensation’ for accepting a year old motor instead of a new one it was a XXL MAN and fitted nice in the top locker, today it is under the pass seat of my Actros.
You see them on E bay sometimes and also on here occasionally, but buying new is quite expensive. Some lads use a cheap household one with a large inverter wired direct to battery. If you check out this forum there is some info on here about that somewhere.

never mind the microwave. where did you get the toastie maker from and is it 24v and any good?
There’s a story about that, I bought it at a car boot sale from the wife of a driver I knew.
She had all kinds of kit, clothes, shoes, aftershaves, watches, jewellry the lot, and also truck related stuff on the stall, jackets, maps, sat nav, kettles, all selling for next to nothing . Turned out he had ■■■■■■ ed off and left her for another woman and she was selling ALL his stuff without him knowing.
Yeh it is 24v, and works a treat.
Carp sleeping bag (double zip and not mummy shaped) a quilt as I don’t like the night heater on all night. Two pillows.
I have quite a large screened laptop I keep in the wagon for films and box sets run from a 24v 150 inverter. Also have my cooler/chiller box running but turn off at night as it’s annoying humming away.
Oh and a good old lump of reading material on my kindle.
Take a large water container and more food than you will need, choice.
Some bags for old underwear and the like.
Any help and or advice on kiting myself out with a few home comforts?
Have been on days since I passed my test but now going to be doing nights out
Slightly confused about using 12/24v equipment what’s best, will it drain batteries, where to buy etc
Thanks in advance
If you’re a “real” driver a wooden board to sleep on can be forgiven. And a roof, just on special days. You have to sleep with the gearstick pressing into an arse cheek though. If you don’t have a gearstick, well…
To illustrate my point. This is a real trucknet driver. If you have more than this, you’ve no place on our roads. This driver has allowed himself home comforts… the pansy. Note the seat
