Could this be Harry Gill and Sandman Norman on a night out ? ( Only joking boy’s ).
I like the size of that Sat Nav or is it an early copy of Truck and Driver on goatskin ?.
Didn’t the Ford Transcontinental have a top bunk that pulled down from the ceiling like that.
Bestbooties will know, he also has a great photo of a kitchen that he built in his Volvo F12, I think that’s what you are looking for dm46.

Sorry,Strongbow moment.

the cabs must fairly reak after they’ve had a fry-up or cooked a pan of chips in them…fat spitting everywhere.

I had a Bedford km with a double sleeper= On the shelf or across the seats.

Sorry to hijack this thread , often wondered which old truck was the best for a night out in? Love the globetrotter but have never been in one, does anyone have any tales / personal favourites?

before the trotters & space cabs arrived the erf olympics took some beating , proper drivers motor , cheers , dave

They sent drivers to the Middle East in that??!!! Biglorryblog on the mighty Leyland Marathon overland tractor

Difficult to believe that there was a time when people did the Middle East run in a Leyland Marathon…but they did. (one wonders if they ever got back again…no BLB walk away from that!) And they did the work for large operations like BRS too. Biglorryblog has ‘Mr Pictures’ old Ashley Coghill for these gems which clearly show a state-of-the-art Marathon ready for the run down to Iraq and Saudi.

And dig this wonderful shot of the interior of the Middle east Marathon (not Snickers) complete with gas cooker and all the trimmings. Good to see the trusty flask by the (left-hand) driver’s. No doubt full of warming Bovril.

Full article found in BLB archives July 2007.

■■■■ Rivers, Max Bygraves cassette playing - nice

You would think someone at Southall could have found 2 seats that matched!!!

I would think that passenger seat, had been replaced after the fire     look how close it is to the cooker :open_mouth:

I haven’t got any proper pictures of in cab living, although the bedroom is a little untidy. Advantage of being a short arse, is I can sleep in a MAN TGA with a Fridge at the foot of the bed.

Healthy eating, until I chuck it in with some sausages and spuds

My missus on an Italian trip, stuck in Orte easter '91. “Al fresco” dining in the trailer, although I had a nice trailerbox set-up too. She couldn’t even keep away from the kitchen on a trip! Bless her.

Think these special order Transcons took some beating in the mid 70s :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

Why put tins in the fridge? . . and no placemats on the table :open_mouth:
