holiday time

can ne 1 tell me here who gets more then 20 days, cos i thought as off october 07 the leave entitlement went up to 24 days and off april 09 it goes upto 28 days , is ne 1 else is the predicament , i need some hard evidence(goverment links) etc to prove to my boss that the leave has gone up by 4 days . as i think he is breaking the law by only giving us 20 days plus bank hols etc

20 days plus bank holidays is still perfectly legal as that works out to 28 days in total and the minimum currently is 24 days, rising to 28 days as of the 1st April 2009.

Not since the recent change. 24 including bank holidays, or 4.8 weeks as it is officially known, is now the legal minimum. It goes up to 5.6 weeks, 28 days, in April 09.

Note there is no right to be paid for a bank or public holiday but if you do get paid for them they can count toward your minimum. If you don’t get paid for them, you don’t work them but you don’t get paid either, then they won’t count toward the minimum and you would be entitled to 4.8 weeks holiday not including the bank holidays.
