i may be going tramping if there able to change my shift pattern from sat-wed to sun-thurs,chap said if they cant ill be holiday cover,the job is x amount of drivers working different shifts 7 days per week,obviously i can only do x amount of shifts per week to stay legal,but youll have drivers doing different days to cover work,so im guessing ill have to cover there shifts,i week mon-fri,tues-sat,sun-thurs etc,etc has anyone ever done this type of thing,holiday for tramping other than just mon-fri,im guessing youd loose track of which day of the week it is,should you be starting today,tomorrow,sat etc,sounds a bit of a nightmare,or do you settle into it o.k.

been told were to park up at one of our depots so parking at w/end could be a nightmare as full of mon-fri trampers truck,doing it fulltime ,not as holiday cover now,set run so could get boring will have to see,at least the night out money will negate the pay cut,really looking forward to no ■■■,cheese and pickle sarnies with a bag of crisps for tea,and sleeping in a tin box 
Could be worse. You could also have to pi$$ in a bush and ■■■■ in a bucket in some layby.

never ever heard anymore about o/d dessy,not for a while mate,loyalty,um ,a advert went up on our board for trampers,i was hoping it would get me off sat-wed.sun-thurs,mon fri ,something that didnt include both days at w/ends ,even said about holiday cover,but now told me im going on it on sat-wed 
[my little plan backfired on me],sat-wed tramping,instead of sat-wed days,sleeping in a tin box on a saturday night [be carefull what you wish for] ,but office bod recons more will be going onto tramping so hes going to see if in future he can switch me to a more suitable shift,also this is set run,same run all the time,i fancyed a bit of variation,he said hed try,but not to get my hopes up,i wont

it really couldnt connor,my plan[underhand ] was to use going on tramping to get off w/ends [or at least both days],when he said my shift pattern sat-wed wouldnt work 
,i thought id cracked it ,tramping,but mon-fri ,got to be better than weekends,but hes managed to sort out runs for sat-wed trampingm1 a.m starts[what have i done],couldnt back out as told them i was desperate to go tramping[white lie],id do any days,times,never dreamed hed come up with sat-wed tramping,1 a.m starts,set run ,i was well ■■■■■■ off working sat/sun of late,im now going to be working sat/sun ,and sleeping in a tin box to boot ,have a thought for the poor lad when your out on the ■■■■ on a saturday night

Yes. I was doing exactly that at Appleton Thorn. Lasted about 3 months, what a joke. Got messed around on different shifts, days, nights and weekends. The clincher was telling me to drive my car from Wigan to Cannock and do a weeks Tramping out of there. ■■■■ that! Cheeky ■■■■■■

Good luck with that. I was told the same thing. Three months and it happened about four times. Stopped on the services about three times and the rest was in lay-by’s or industrial estates.
