I see a lot of drivers with dirty joggers,with tears and rips,boots with no laces,then they get in an truck that is worth £80,000 or more,would you hire a driver dressed like a street beggar.
Would you wear jeans that are cut in to shorts,and a Spongepants tee shirt to attend a Traffic Commisioners hearing,one chap did,and his firm got billed for wasting the TCs time and told to dress correctly for Bell`s office and come back again.
All over the Uk,at building merchants,you can buy top quality work trousers,the ones with all the pockets are the best,strong and durable,and Meteor brand safety boots made by Scruffs,they look like trainers but have the steel toe caps,security guards like to step on the end to test them,gives them something to do.No excuse is there?
Nope they wouldn’t get in the yard but then I’d supply them with a decent, practical uniform.
Thing is it doesn’t cost any more to kit yourself out with decent looking kit, than it does to buy joggers etc…Matalan rocks 
I tend to buy my dandy attire from High St shops like Oxfam, Mencap & Save The CHILDREN 'cos that’s about as far as my wages can stretch.
After the TAX has been extracted there’s always the additional costs of replacement steps, mirrors & tyre wear to be paid back to my boss. Not forgetting the beacon that was ripped off by a low lying tree branch on that drop in the ■■■■ryside.
Only last week, I had to pay him £300 for the privilege of working a 55 hour week. Still, I only had to ‘tug’ my forelock twice, which I suppose is a blessing in these hard times.

TC holds your career, livelihood, possibly your relationships and family future in the palm of their hand, and someone would risk the TC’s wrath by insulting them by daring to dress like that, lunacy.
There should be some sort of intelligence or common sense test before a provisional licence is issued in the first place, save the trouble of getting rid of 'em later.
when i was at nuttalls we didnt get a uniform so used all my old 3663 tops and just bought 2 pair of work pants and a pair of shorts from range for less than 25 quid
i been with maritime about 4 months now and not been a stitch of uniform due to them bringing out a new one ( there going for the shirt look ) and tbh it looks smart should have it by the end of the month
fact is there is no exscuse to dress like a complete tramp at work but if the boss dont provide then the boss cant really complain
