Hi I am retired driver and have been scratchbuilding model lorries since 1976 as a hobby I also take a lot of photos of lorries so if you see an old boy with an ERF cap taking your photo on the A76 at Sanquhar give me a wave. Eddie.
Nice one! good ol Marshall top & what I boldly assume to be a tele? Nicest leccy guitar I ever owned was a yamaha SG2000 (yknow - Santana job) bought around 1980 for a king`s ransom. It was ■■■■■■ awesome but quite heavy. easily matched a Les Paul (tbh, I thought it was better).
I always loved strats too cos of the "wammy" and the mind-blowing ways all of my early axe heroes used to strangle em (Hendrix, Beck, Blackmore, S.R. Vaughan, Dave Gilmour to name just a few), but for no good reason never got round to owning one. Ive hung up my plectrum and taken up acoustic fingerstyle in recent years, and have just taken my beloved Larrivee into the surgery for a much needed re-fret. Keep that stack dialled up to 11 dude - its what it was made for!!

My word, that Smith’s (of Maddiston, wasn’t it?) ERF is a beauty! The detail is amazing, even at that scale - I love the A-Z on the dash. Used to scratch-build 1/76th myself - probably what kanckered my eyesight!

And finally, RC cars. At one point I had 8, but only have three at the moment. I keep buying broken ones, fixing them, then selling them on. Usually at a loss but I enjoy my time with them.
Black one has now been sold:

There were loads of really nice guitars coming out of Japan in the 1980s … I had an early Washburn Hawk for a while which was a real quality guitar. I don;t tend to get attached to guitars though … the Tele in the picture I eventually gave to my brother, and now I play a couple of homebuilt Strats and a Fender Tele. The Marshall - which was a 1976 100 watt beast - is long gone, and replaced with a smaller valve amp which growls at reasonable volumes. Acoustic guitars are the way forward, though … I’ve just left my band of 18 years and am sort of looking for a fiddle player to knock out some tunes with.

Sounds like an interesting transition, mate. Nice to see the word “valve” in your response - Unbeatable once theyre up to temperature! Just love that hum. Ive found good acoustics to be surprisingly versatile, and they can be very hypnotic when hooked up to a decent sound hole pickup and lightly sprinkled with a touch of phase/flange or such like (bron-y-aur?) John Martyn (god rest) was a good example back in his echoplex days. Love a bit of Paco De Lucia too but my knackered old digits wont do what my head wants em to these days!
Forgot to give mr. Trower a mention in my strat heroes - (sorry, Robin).

I bought one of these … youtube.com/watch?v=EB0NA5cW5fo - all of 8 watts (switchable to, er, 2) when even my 15 watt Blackstar proved too loud! I love the noise valves make when you drive them.

Sweet as, RT. technology marches on in wonderful ways. (He thinks hes Tom Scholtz dont he?)
Anyway, how are things with the neighbours these days!
For a bit of acoustic excellence, check out the Canadian Guitar Festival on y/tube - Dylan Ryche & Calum Graham are sublime!

I do a bit of this, not professionally just for my own enjoyment. I started on vinyl about 16 years ago and just moved with the times to end up presently mixing mp3s. I sometimes record my mixes onto cd and listen to them while I’m out on the road to see where I can improve myself.
