Hmm Hgv driver jewsons

With the amount of advertising jewsons are putting out for 7.5t and class 2 drivers it makes you wonder if the jobs that good.

Competitive salary? Just tell it as it is.

And working every other Saturday? Well it’s gotta pay pretty good for that to happen.

To be honest it can’t be that good or our eu friends would have snapped these jobs up.

Apparently they only employ ex SAS…

I was offered 26k for 5 days 0730-1630 and every other Saturday 0800-1200 at my local branch, for Class 2 HIAB. I declined, but not because of the pay.

I will say the rates are negotiable, as they are worked out with each branch manager separately. So just because I was offered that don’t expect that to be on offer everywhere, or even for it to be the most you could get…

Its the every other sat F-reds, I don’t think anyone should be Made to work a 6th shift followed by a single rest day.

£8 per hour up here through agency. And not much more if you’re actually employed by them.

BUT… (unless it’s changed)…

You DO NOT get an O/T rate - they DO NOT PAY O/T anyway.

So, if you go over your finish time, you don’t get paid for that time, they say ‘oh, you’ll get that time back another day’.

No you won’t! EVER! You’ve just then worked for nowt.

‘They’ (the clueless office workers) plan your runs, but you sharp learn if you can or cannot do them before your finish time shout - sorry, let them know about it!

Did a few weeks agency and left.

What a joke the way it’s run.

How they make money I don’t know… :unamused:

They are a part of the Saint Gobain group, I’ve done my time in tool hire and glad I got out when I did… They are all struggling jewsons, Jacksons, and especially speedy…

The advert they have done in Hull sounds like you just get shipped around for which ever branch needs a driver!

How strange, I was just reading an article in the newspaper about a man “outed” for pretending to his wife, mates and family he was a Jewsons driver, when he was nothing more than an SAS soldier.

Pictures on his Facebook included

“Me and a dolly knot, 1991”

“My first brick grab. You won’t know the adrenaline unless you’re one of us.”

"Me blocking a cul de sac whilst delivery dry-wall. I had a right barny with a nimby over this. I still struggle to talk about this to anyone not in “the club”

Also one of him posing in near “his” lorry. Turned out to be a corgi model Jewsons lorry, very close to the camera with him standing far away in a homemade Jewsons uniform.

Real hero lorry drivers have taken to social media to mock fanciful Barry. “You could tell this clown isn’t one of us. He’s not fat for starters”

The web of deceit unraveled when a regiment member spotted the Walt online. A red faced Barry admitted he wasn’t part of the elite Jewsons lorry driver team and nothing other than a work a day SAS bloke. “Its right embarrassing, the misses has dumped me and now I’m back to polishing me boots. It all started as a way to pull the birds. Honest it was.”

Bummer.

Exactly why I declined. My Saturday’s and Sunday’s are for drinking, dog walking, and watching sport!
