Hitting the road,Caravan wanted

Im in Stoke at the moment and instead of going back to Malaysia,
I have decided to buy a caravan and go to Holland for a few months.

Any ideas about good areas for work or good campsites greatfully received.

So if you have a van with a shower and all the junk you need to live in it,
I dont mind something older looking as long as it damp free.

Im looking at paying under £1500 so any ideas.

B.T.W. I am going to look for a driving job but its also a bit of a change
of scenery as well. :sunglasses:

PS. I am talking about caravans when I say older and damp free.

Good luck with the search, when I was lookin’ for my van, I covered a few thousand miles, looked at a lot of vans, wasted a lot of time, eventually bought 1 that I thought was ok, 1st time I came to use it, realised the water didn’t work (hot or cold), the floor had been filled with expanding foam or similar and it cost me a fortune to get it to the condition it’s now in, which still is nowhere near perfect but is perfectly usable.

I’m currently on a site called Lady Heyes caravan park in Frodsham whilst I do my ADR in Ellesmere Port, it’s close to Chester, Ellesmere Port, Warrington, Runcorn and Widnes, so I think as a base for work, it’s pretty damned good.

No idea what the job situation is around here though.

pm sent.

Beware, theres alot of crap about for sub 1500 quid. Dont ask me how i know this and i spent a fair bit more once and still got a lemon. Get yaself a cheap Rapitest damp meter for 15 quid off amazon or summin.

Just wanted to say thanks for the PMs and advice.
I have spent months looking for the right deal and have
just brought a 2000 Swift 480 Utopia off a pal who has
relocated to Thailand.

I got it at mate rate and it came with all the gear and a
cracking pitch on a quiet site.
Cheers.

Cheers Quinny,

The whole caravan scene is a bit of a new thing for me.
What about Tintenter for a user name.

Ditto.

Bought my first van about a month ago, and so far so good.

Went away last week for 2 days on a motorsport meet, with my mate and his son and currently looking to go away with the wife and dog in the next few weeks.

Wife wasn’t keen at first, but she’s gradually coming around to it. When she says something, I don’t ram it in her face, instead I say that it’s a good idea, and we might try it, that way I get what I want, but she thinks she’s suggesting it. Win win.

Ken.
