When I was in Syria one time, at the port of Tartous booking a ferry, there was a tall German driver known to us all as Bernard, he spoke very good English.
He was trying to get through to the Syrian booking agents about getting on a ferry but could not get any sense out of them.
In exasperation he turned to me and said, “Do you know Ian, Hitler was not mad, he just had no ■■■■■■■ sense of direction, he should have come down here to sort these ■■■■■ out!”
