Hi Guys
Jumped out the cab the other night there to fill up the fridge on the trailer with gogo juice and noticed there was a hissing coming from somewhere, oh god, not an air leak I hoped. Turned out that the red airline was hissing from the actual connecting point on the trailer. To be safe I jumped down and applied the trailer parking brake and then disconnected the red airline and put it back on but it was still hissing, I gave it a twist and it stopped and I asked one of our other guy’s who was there and he said this happens sometimes and it’s normal and nothing to worry about.
Is this the case?
Sam
In my experience, they can become dry and not seat and seal properly.
A little lubrication of the slider and ball bearings usually does the trick.
WD40 or similar.
Regards,
Nick.
Very common, as long as you are not dropping air to the point that after 10 mins you need to rebuild, it’s fine.
Or pump quarter of a pint of diesel into a used vending machine cup and dip the coupling in there for a minute or two.

You more than often get that on the trailer yellow line too. There are small ball bearings at the base that get stuck and wont let it seal, if you poke a diesel soaked finger inside it will free them, but a can of WD40 in your bag is a godsend
Think she’s a prostitute round my way.
common problem sam but easily fixed with a squirt of wd40 and as youdid give the suzie a couple of twists

Agreed, if I only carried three things, a can of WD40 would be one of them. (A hammer and a roll of Duck Tape would be the other two)
“If you can’t fix it, Duck it, and if you can’t Duck it, ■■■■ it!”
Wouldnt worry about it, they have to leak quite abit before they cause any problems.
