I’m parked up for the night and am surprised how quiet the shops are for the amount of traffic. I only stopped here because I couldn’t get much closer to home, and my parking is paid for but it wouldn’t be all that high on my list of parking priorities. The place looks like a cold war relic.

Yep, plenty of choice in that area rather than an MSA - BUT, if he’s only just parked up, don’t Standeford stop serving around 8pm? Or is it a bit later, and it gets full quick too, as does The Hollies these days…

Blimey I think they pulled that down years ago now, the Hollies would have been a better choice maybe.
What a coincidence,i was in there earlier today as the M6 s/b was congested so grabbed a break to let it pass.
As you have said, it was deserted, like ghost town.
No tour coaches,about 3 trucks.
Hardly no cars apart from staff cars.

Bugger - oh well all in the name of progress - so they say. They will keep going until the only pubs left are in London and the houses of Parliament. Tossers
How long can you park for in an MSA? First time I’ve ever o/n in one. Got here 17.40, only running back to our yard so I’m having a lie in.
Before I get criticised for hanging the job out, I was allocated a two day run which I finished yesterday afternoon, so my job for the day is to drive back, write out my run sheet for tomorrow and go home paid for today.
I think it’s 24 hours. Doesn’t it say on your ticket?
Two hour frre parking.Over two hours they send an invoice.Do not pay it.Letters arrive with threats of court action and blah blah scare tactics on how they word it.
They hope mugs will pay up.Cameras record number plate going and out.

Don’t think it did, I’ve handed the paperwork in now and at home having cut the grass and washed the car.

It’s not free parking over 2 hrs though.
I suppose if you take a load and dropped it off then the customer said “I ain’t paying” you wouldn’t be too chuffed would you
Shoe on other foot
What the hell have they used on the road surface south of the services, chocolate? The sign says “materials hardening” as an excuse to close the lane off. Either that or the contract was won by some blokes in a Q reg transit tipper with 6 ginger haired crooked toothed kids in between the seats, who just happened to be in the area with some asphalt left over.

Is Standeford the one close to Cannock? Looks like a proper transport cafe?
