Just a quick one I wonder if examiners would fail you on test for using hill start button after all they dont tell you not to personally I wouldn’t have used it just in case.

If its part of the vehicle controls then it can be used
You’re allowed to use a reversing camera so don’t see why not.

Aren’t they only found on Autos ■■
Had them on 08 plate Volvo FE 23 tonners with a 4 over 4. Ford transits have it on too, completely automatic, it senses when you’re on a hill and not got the handbrake on.
Think thats one for the training lads its just that if you use it your not really demonstrating wether you can do a hill start properly but on saying that you would use it anyway when your out on your own.

True. I know cruise control is a no-no… Aren’t you allowed to use a 3 pedal Opti-Cruise and get a manual licence?
As Rog said, fitted to the vehicle - use it.

Not so. See above.

I used Cruise Control on test, my instructor explained as the vehicle was fitted with it I would be expected to use it where appropriate.
I also passed C in a three pedal Opti-Cruise and obtained a full manual licence.
There you go no hearsay, no MMTM, as it happened to me

Fair enough. Nothing against you personally, but what about when the next bloke that the examiner has misses a gear or goes into the wrong range?
And if you learn on an opticruise, how would you feel about driving a 4 over 4?

Or a slapbox or any other type of gearboox … what I am saying is that no matter what a trainee learns on you they going to have to learn all the other types as they come across them

My Foden is 4 over 4 thanks and is no problem.
Every vehicle is different and needs to be learnt, some take 2mins others take a little while longer.
