Highways England (or whatever they're called this week)

Trying to get from East Yorkshire to Oxford. Turns out the M42 is knackered due to an accident. No problem, M69 - a46. Comes over radio, a46 closed for roadworks. No problem, M1 to j15a and the a43. Until I get to the Brackley roundabout and find it closed. The diversion is back up the 43 to the a5. Not a problem, except theres 2 lanes closed on the roundabout and traffic is backed up a mile.
Currently on the a5 near Milton Keynes having a 45 and wishing everyone at highways england (or whatever they’re called this week) gets incurable crabs. Useless ■■■■■■■.
Out of interest, was gonna use the a422 from Brackley to M40 at J11, but wasn’t sure if it was artic friendly. Anyone know that road?

Yes the 422 is ok with only one narrow part in a village, go for it.
