The normal website I check for closures is just showing the normal delays / future works but no motorway closures. Anyone know of any other website.
Traffic england
Are you on the new website: gov.uk/government/organisat … ays-agency
They’re trying to improve the accuracy by not showing closures until the Tsco (traffic safety control officer) calls in to say they are starting to put the closure on then the signals go on and the. Web updated.
The plan is to bring this forward until 12 noon as the contractors should know by then which closures will definately be on that night.
The idea is to stop forewarning of many planned closues which them don’t happen which p’sses people off.

Which is all well and good until you set off for Scotland from Hull, go up the A1 because nowt is showing as going to be closed only to find that half way between the M62 and Scotch Corner they’ve closed the A1 at say Leeming Bar giving you no good route other than back to the 62.
To be honest they need to have a serious look at the whole of their system. During Operation Stack last week no relevant information at all, at 8 o’clock Thursday morning the last update on their website was at 23.30 on Wednesday under the heading “breaking news” incident at junction 8 M20 as much use as a chocolate fireguard when you are stuck at junction on Thursday morning and the travel news wasn’t much better with the radio saying 3 hour delays when it took me 11 hours to get to Dover from Junction 6. The problem then compounded further by Kent police not letting enough lorries through to the port the boat I caught was half empty on the top deck and the port itself was empty too. A complete lack of co-operation between all concerned but still why worry it is only lorry drivers caught up it in just about sums up the UK’s attitude to road freight.
