Highways Agency Information Line number changes

The Highways Agency Information Line officially changed its number to 0300 123 5000 on Monday 07 June after a successful two-week public testing period.

The change will mean fairer and more transparent call charges for customers. 0300 numbers cost no more than calling a geographic (01 or 02) number and must be included in inclusive minutes and discount schemes, even on mobiles. They are reserved for not-for-profit and public sector organisations.

The old number will run along with the new number for two years, giving time to gradually phase out the old number from publications, websites, merchandise and signage as part of their natural lifecycle, reducing costs. Callers using the old number will get an automated message and be transferred to HAIL.

Anyone that has the old 08457 and the old 0121 numbers can delete them and save the new one.

Thanks

If they done it right the old numbers should automatically reconnect to the new number like what happened when the DVLA change numbers.

Somebody test it :grimacing:

Thanks for the update Highway Man

You get a recorded message that informs you of the new number but connects you to HAIL.
