Highways Agency guide

I’ve got the truckstop guide by the HA, which is dated 2006.

Have they produced a new one yet, or have I been going around with my eyes closed?

Ken.

There is a truckstop guide map thing as a sticky in the overnight parking forum, was posted Feb 17. Can’t help with your question though :laughing: .

Hi Dave.

That looks impressive, but as I am an agency bod, and move from truck to truck, I could only use that via a laptop wheras the HA guide can be kept in the old drivers bag, but thanks anyhow.

Ken.

So after a more intensive search for info, I managed to get an e.mail address and sent a request for 4 of the guides for myself and 3 friends.

Got this reply back today:

Dear Mr Q,

Thank you for your e-mail to the Highways Agency Information Line of 28th February 2011 in which you raise the following issue;

Receiving a copy of our Truckstop Guide.
In answer to your e-mail I am able to provide the following response;

Thank you for requesting a copy of the Highways Agency’s Truckstop Guide, unfortunately due to budget cuts we do not have any plans to print hard copies of this guide .
You may be interested to know that an interactive web version is also available at www.highways.gov.uk/truckstops which is updated frequently.
Should you have any further questions about the above issue or any other Highways Agency related issues please contact us via e-mail or telephone on 0300 123 5000.

So if you are new to the game, or just want to catch up, then tough ■■■■. You’re on your own.

Ken.

They’re cutting everything back now to save money. Our network magazines and monthly audio disc is now all online. We even have to take our own packed lunches to courses now as they stopped providing a buffet!! :cry:
