Highway thru hell #Nat Geo

just flicked over to this looks good, about tow truck drivers in canda.

just thought id share some good/bad telly

just been over my mum and dads, he recorded this and we watched it, not too bad tbh.

Yes have seen it a few times quite interesting

It must be one of the worst accident sites in the world, so many crashes on one section of road, very interesting and such impressive kit and the skills to go with them.!

I drive up and down that road every week and it is a nightmare when the weather gets nasty, came down it this week and it was snowing like a ■■■■■■■■ not a lot of fun. On the way back up it was time to throw the chains over the tyres

I’ve watched from the start, I find it very good. Better than irt.

They ■■■■■■ up when they tried lifting the trailer without a spreader bar, I think they even put a graphic up before that had an spreader bar. I would’ve thought you’d have dragged it onto the road, jacked it where the legs are if they were goosed, then pulled the unit our from under the trailer.

I think they were doing it that way showing off the new kit and it bit them on the arse.

Good viewing though

they couldn’t use spread bar due to over head wires I think. will we be seeing newmerman on next series telling how he embedded truck in snow swerving to avoid some children playing on side of road!?

Enjoying the series too. As said, he couldn’t use a spreader because of overhead power cables restricting the headroom.

Newmercman…a proper driver, most drivers wouldnt have a clue how to use them, then again, we dont normally get such extreme weather.

I did mention the highway through hell program about 3 weeks ago, its a very good prog, just shows how the other halves work.

just watched that bit again, so it looks like I wasn’t paying attention!! But I still don’t see why they couldn’t of dragged it further back. Either way if they couldn’t use a spreader bar then lifting it that way wasn’t an option

And thank you, it was your post that alerted me to it.

Same here, cheers.

Yeah I enjoyed watching it too, bet the rotator builders in Tennessee were nipping arse when it looked like it might have been over length   . Serious piece of kit and serious lump of dough too :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

You may see me on the show, but not on a hook, I haven’t been in any snow banks, I did end up at some funny angles after getting stuck on a hill, but that was on the BC/Alberta border miles away from the Coq and there were no kids involved in that, just a mental snowstorm that started halfway up the mountain, I got out of that with perseverance and snow chains. I did get filmed going up the hill, there was a van with cameramen hanging out of it in the middle lane going into the snowshed, if it gets in the show you’ll see me giving it plenty of welly overtaking the camera van and roaring off up the mountain :sunglasses:
