Lancia were build till 1969 if i remember right
Engine was 6 Cylinder in Row,without Turbo charger around 200 Bhp pulling with 8 axle all over Italy and with 7 Axle in Austria
Engine block was Aluminium with 4 valve per Cylinder,2 Disc clutch with Propshaft to 6+2 Gearbox.
gearbox Body made from Aluminium too
3th Axle was Single Wheeled (mostly),Steered and,had to be locked by reversing but could be lifted when empty. If twin-Wheeled as Tipper axle was not to lift and not steered.
Fiat
his Rival at that Time was 10 Hbp short of it and more Heavy as Engine Block and gearbox block was Steel,Cab was smaller but they had much better Service all over Italy already, during Lancia operated in north italy and was more Expensive.
Fiat also had a Propshaft between Engine and gearbox with 6+2 speed and running in Italy with 8 Axle and Austria with 7 Axles
When Lancia closed and Fiat introduced its new Serie after overtaking Unic it went down to 6 Axle in Italy and Austrian started buying German and Sweidsh Lorries
That serie run already with the Cab from Unic fitted
Unic
had already a V8 under the Cab,and run with 270 Bhp or 340 Bhp,having no Exhaust Break but a Telma Brake fitted
