They’re calling out for more V2G (vehicle to grid) ready Electric cars & smart chargers to be rolled out & installed with people who can charge at off peak times will be rewarded with cheaper rates,
The national grid say they would have ‘X’ Amount of Megawatts available on tap with plugged in EV’s to balance the grid at peak times. It can be over ridden though by the person charging if they need a full charge for their requirements.
My MG ZS EV has no remote access via the MG app as at the time (2020) the data laws between the EU & UK with China were restricted, These first gen MG electric cars did not come with the hardware or software installed, The new 2022 facelift MG ZS EV now has these features.
Not really worth it for me as I only charge mine twice a month, The overnight cheap rate from my energy provider Octopus of 7p/kwh between 00:00-04:00 will up your day rate to 30p/kwh Besides I haven’t got a smart charger (too expensive) too many hoops to jump through by the OLEV people so a mute point.

30p per kWh + road fuel duty and 20% VAT is what Al Gore and Boris and EDF are trying to sell us.
While France is applying discount subsidies for customers to use gas and petrol.
They couldn’t make it up.

I would say at this moment in time a diesel car would be far cheaper to run than an EV presently. All the public fast chargers cost between 40p-69p/kWh. No wonder the big oil companies are buying out EV charging companies as fast as they can, All the countries who are signed up to Net Zero have to install a certain number of public chargers /week through to 2030, Germany has to build 2000 fast public e-chargers/week until 2030 but in reality it is only building 250, The UK has to build 145000 public e-chargers every year through to 2030.

They can try to put in as many chargers as they want.
But that won’t create more demand for an unaffordable unwanted form of travel.
Even if they try to force it by applying EV rules retrospectively which will just crash the automotive sector completely from already crashing it with ICE sales rationing and limits.
The truth is this dangerous nuclear dependency scam isn’t going to work.Even if anyone wanted it most can’t afford it without taxes let alone with road fuel tax applied and that’s without the inevitable nuclear disaster.
The same applies to domestic fuel.Gas v nuclear is a no brainer in terms of cost let alone safety.
All based on the lie that CO2 cooked Venus.

It’s not going well is it! I will continue using my 18 year old Volvo diesel to get me to and from work for a good while yet I think, maybe the EV users could consider a diesel powered gen set
bigstraight6:
maybe the EV users could consider a diesel powered gen set
Better off running the gen set on natural gas so far.Still a lot cheaper than red diesel.
But the Al Gore’s of this world seem to have predictably monopolised ( weaponised ) the electric supply to EV charger to EV battery interface which stops any direct charging connection possibility. Its all smart metered and approved charger connections only.
What a surprise.
Bearing in mind that government policy is to increasingly artificially load gas prices to disincentivise its use v electric.
Then they export the unused gas.

I doubt that…
I can’t remember a time I last saw a Gas Works “up in the air” rather than completely sunk into the ground…
I don’t believe we have any gas reserves to speak of AT ALL, just this daft, outmoded “Just-in-time” Gas Delivery model, that is currently buggered up by our deliberately soiled relations with Putin’s Russia…
I notice today also that the Ruble has strengthened, the Moscow Stock Market is up, there is no sign that Putin’s troops on his own border, inside his own country - are going anywhere, and Kiev are meanwhile holed up in their quagmire of their own making, predicting something that might never happen, whilst Putin only need build a permanent garrison base on the border to keep the peace pretty much forever, without a shot being fired, let alone “in anger”…
Woe betide any Kiev agent who now decides to slip across the border to sabotage anything, or maybe kill a few East Ukrainians (loyal to Russia) whilst dressed in Russian Uniforms to “make Putin look bad” like they did shooting down MH17 with a piece of surplus BUK SAM system left over from the cold war… I bet most Dutch people didn’t think that to be a “price worth paying” to “make Kiev’s enemy look bad” - the same enemy that sided with Adolf Hitler against Mother Russia in WWII to boot!

The gas storage distribution terminals are out in the sea we don’t use the old town coal gas holders these days.
Our gas exports have actually doubled.
While we apply a 10% carbon tax to our own gas and Bozo has made no secret of his plans to equalise the price of gas with electric and/or ban gas use at home obviously so he can export all of it.
How many days does it need to stay down here, before we can demand the retail price be cut, rather than raised in April like we’ve been told to expect now?
Winseer:
The gas price - has not bounced back up again.

The retail price of fossil fuel products here is being manipulated to meet the ‘climate’ agenda.
The government has openly stated an intention to economically ■■■■■■■ the fossil fuel choice with punitive artificial pricing to match electric, if not outright bans on use.
The energy suppliers are obviously onside with that to make Al Gore etc richer.
I notice we’re being offreed “Free” smart meters, which we already know will give us false over-charged bills, and don’t work properly to save us anything at all…
Yet we’re not offered things like “Free Electric cars” or “Free house re-builds with Solar Panels” or even compulsory membership to the CCP what with the compulsory access to CCP policies we now seem to be getting…

Bearing in mind that solar panels will invalidate a mortgage or mortgage application. Also not much use when the sun isn’t shining.Which is most of the time in Winter.
As for the ‘free EV’ they would obviously just increase taxes and electric cost to pay for it.
While the things will be unviable to run at 20p + per kWh + taxes anyway.
If you take the bill as read we’ve gone from £24.75 c on 4 th feb to £118.94 dr on the 15 th feb , good job I’ve followed the mrs round switching the light off !!

You shouldn’t leave your address on it like that mate, assuming this is a genuine bill, as that annual projection looks enviably low!
I stopped over-paying via direct debit in September before Bulb went into “Special Administration”.
By the end of December, all my credit had been used up.
I now “Pay as I go” - settle the bill within 3 days of it being sent via email to me, based on my own reads, not “Estimated” ones.
Even then - I’m burning through nearly 200quids worth a month dual fuel now!.

A better house up our street with solar panels - recently sold for £248k whilst an inferior house without solar panels - just went for £280k…
I remember the days when “Home Improvements” used to ADD value to one’s property, rather than detract from it, like “Modifications” do to Car Insurance Policies…!

My January bill was £140 total for 2297 kWh gas and 157 kWh electric.
15 quid of that was standing charges.
Not forgetting all the VAT on usage and the carbon taxes on the gas + VAT on the carbon tax.
We’re sitting on an ocean of gas and a mountain of coal and were living like freezing peasants while our gas is exported to keep everyone else in the world warm.
