If it helps, plenty of people commute from the East Coast to us for training.

Did mine (Class 1) with T.I.R at Beverley. Can recommend them. Chose them for my artic licence as they use a full height trailer (40 ft tri-axle) with a 12 speed Volvo unit. Not sure Welwyn do as I’ve seen a low trailer being used. Not sure if it makes any difference though. Just personal choice. Still get the same licence. 
Hiya pal i used Welwyn and can highly recommend them,easy to get on with,good instructors,i really enjoyed my time there,was well nervous at first obvs but felt relaxed in no time at all.
There are others in the area and im not sayin ones better than the other just sayin how my time at Welwyn was.

Thanks for the reply fellas just. Need to start saving up in the new year wondering if it’s best to do class 2 then class 1 all at same time what’s your views and has anyone who recently passed near hull managed to get work…straight away.?

There’s no advantage in delaying so you might as well get the class 1 as soon as possible.

I did my class 2 with Welwyn, only thing I didn’t like was the fact there was two people learning at the same time, did my class one with T.I.R and they where brilliant, used a proper trailer, not a wagon and drag. Would certainly recommend T.I.R for class one.
