Hi all, I’m a newbie to this forum. I passed my class 2 last week and go on my first driving job next Saturday. I’ve been reading a lot of the posts and find them very helpful and informative. Obviously a lot of knowledge and experience on here that is going to be invaluable to a greenhorn.

I trained with Sterling at Kingswinford [near Birmingham]. I’ve read the thread on Sterling and I must admit I haven’t had any problems with them. I found the instructing really good. I’ll be doing my arctic with them soon.

It’s a one off next week with an agency. I think I’m driving with 3663. Soon after I will hopefully be going into truck driving full time. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, plus the job I’m doing at the moment just isn’t paying the bills.

READ THIS it might enlighten you as to what you have got yourself into if that is the CPC before free CE course contract

i did a 3663 , it was a w reg scania truck.
semi auto box good to drive its funny when it changes gear in the middle of junctions. 
i found it better though as i struggled with four over four on test truck
put a post on to get one of the experienced driver to explain how it works if you never used one before

Sterling obviously don’t explain the CPC bit at all it would seem, from what Lordy has posted.
I can’t help but feel that if he doesn’t even know what CPC stands for that someone has fleeced him.

Cheers for the info guys. Yep, I reckon I’ve been a bit duped. The only thing I can do now is pass the CPC in the required time and get on one of the free arctic courses.

That’s good advice Kiw. They said that they’ll be sending me out with an experienced driver, but just in case I am on my own it’s best I know what I’m doing.
