Hgv1 training near bristol

Greetings Chaps,
About 3 years ago I took the C+E test after a one week intensive course having just passed the class C at the first attempt. I failed the C+E on the reversing despite doing 40+ of them perfectly on the training - (just nerves really, and got it in after 2 shunts rather than the one allowed on the test) - and with only 2 other minor faults. Now having more than 3 years on the road in class C vehicles, I think I’d probably have been unready to go straight onto the roads in an Arctic anyway so maybe just as well I failed the test at that time.
Having said that, after3 years on the road in rigids, I feel I am now ready to retake the C+E test, and am looking for an independent (ie not an agency) training school near Bristol which can do a refresher course on C+E, preferably with a variety of trailers, and put me in for a C+E test some time in the new year. Has anyone got any recommendations as to suitable schools in the Bristol area please? Suggestions from people who have recent experience of those schools they recommend would be especially welcome.
Thanks very much,
Paul.

avondrivertrainingsw.com/ - seem to remember others saying good things about them a while ago

CE reverse - 1 or 2 forward shunts = 1 minor but 3 = fail

Thanks very much for that link, I await their contacting me after sending them an enquiry.
As to the 3 shunt fail rule, I expect you’re right- it was a while ago now and after I turned 50 my Alzheimers seems to have kicked in somewhat…!
Cheeras,
Paul.

Karl is a really good instructor and you won’t be ripped off. You can take a driving assessment before you start lessons as well.
