HGV vs House - A41 closed @ Tern Hill

HGV collides with house avoiding second HGV which failed to stop…

Allegedly…

shropshirestar.com/news/emer … hropshire/

That strikes me as a crap excuse. If coming the other way how did it get past and carry on its journey, if on same side of road driver is clearly not driving to conditions

Hope the drivers legs aren’t too badly damaged and he/she makes a full recovery.

That looks nasty, the pedals and steering have crushed in.

Safe to say - I don’t think the owner of the house is going to agree with what it says on the side of the drivers cab!

+1
To many so called drivers rushing, getting in a twist because the road speed are up to 50 but some are still not practical to drive at that speed.
Mind some still think because the roundabout is a 50 they still have to go round it at 50

I just go over them instead. Saves a lot of hassle in the long run!

Dragging up this old news, as it seems (as suggested above) that some drivers refuse to drive to the conditions and drive their kit like they stole it…Apparently in this story, it was caused by the other vehicle crossing over the centre lines and forcing the other HGV into the barn…

Cardboard number plate…not a good start.

No number plate…no move lorry until proper number plate arrives.

I saw the poor wagon on the back of a wrecker heading past Wrexham on the A483 this afternoon. So that’s gone…

I think the closure may still be in place though as the building was shored up; the bracing being fixed to the middle of the A41 carriageway!

Bloody hell, glad I put that up.

So I’m wondering

Coming from London Gateway(port)

M6 leave at gate 14, head for Stone (a34) take A 51 then pick up A53 for Mkt Drayton, then A41 north from Tern Hill island.

M54 leave at gate 4, pick A442, follow through to Hodnet, pick up A53 to Tern hill, then north on the 41.

I will heavy 40+ ton, so what is the better road  .

Personally I’d stay on to J15, over the M6, last exit off next r’bout; then up to t’lights and take the right turn past eddie stobart, back over the M6 again. This puts you on the Trentham Rd to Loggerheads via the A53. You follow that all the way past Market Drayton, pick up the A41 at Tern Hill Island.

Easy.
