im after a sat nav device that i can put in the hgv weight, length or width and the device will automatically plan a route avoiding restrictions. Also one that can be connected to the net to be updated. It also needs to take 6 digit postcodes not one of the ones that only takes 4.

Snooper s7000 mate. Do a quick search there was a topic on it not too long ago. I have one never let me down yet.
will it just warn you of restrictions or will it automatically avoid them so you dont have to worry or do you have to calculate an alternative route around them?
The snooper will plan your route accordingly mate. Still as with all sat navs a bit of common sense is recommended. If I’m going somewhere unfamiliar I’ll double check the route with my truckers map.

Pronav PNN300 very good machine plus it has the london lorry routes on it .
as above does it avoid or just warn of restrictions?
Will route round low bridges and weight limit roads and Speed cameras Poi’s for truck stops as well. But you still need to read the road per common sense if some thing does not look right use ( GOAL) Get Out And Look
the snooper will avoid low bridges etc, as long as it has been programmed with the truck information correctly.
also as said common sense aswell is needed.
