West Yorkshire Police stopped 160 lorry drivers in May and June.

21 lorry drivers were driving whilst using a handheld mobile phone.
13 lorry drivers were speeding.
9 lorry drivers were found to have tacho / driving hours violations.
3 lorry drivers were not using a seatbelt.
2 lorry drivers were in the incorrect lane.
1 lorry driver was intoxicated.

Several faults such as overweight vehicles & defective brakes were also discovered.

I wish I had the job of coming up with these operations, seems a dead easy job making it up as you go along.

They must have been cyclists who drive trucks to have such disregard to public safety.

hmmm so around 10 mins of truck traffic then, what about the other 60 days 23hrs and 50mins worth of truck traffic - everyone behaving properly. I bet the same couldn’t be said for car drivers

Nah, they were being held out into lane 3 by the Mercs, BMW’s, Range Rovers and obligatory Nissan Micra doing 53.4mph in Kane 2 :wink:
