Any one working out of Goole for Agencies, on supermarket contracts ? Looks to be paying some good rates, feedback please.

Stobartās have a constant struggle getting drivers in for the Tesco work over there. I suspect youāll find yourself wanted in there on agency.
Eddie will bite your hand off big time at goole as no one wants to do it. Canāt see the prob meself, suppose thereās easier jobs about.

Well Iāve a good mate who worked on the books for years,he left for pastures new but returned on agency on one of these Ā£10.50 p.h contracts ,according too him at the end of the week heās no better off than he was when he was full time for them ,his words are thereās nothing in it .
The last time I talked to a agency lad there he wasnāt happy as he was travelling in from Wakefield on a w/end to be given 7/8 hrs shift ( nothing much doing at w/ends )
N.b even though he was booked at goole ,he would end up working out of donny 99% of the time .
Youāll definitely have no problem getting in at Stobbies at Goole. Theyāre so desperate theyāll take anyone with a licence and DQC. Iāve yet to see one of their wagons going in there or coming from there which is capable of driving down L1 of the M62/M18 without veering into the hard shoulder or L2 as theyāre meandering along. Even Pimpdaddy could get taken on there.
mmmm oh my memories of working out of Tesco Goole for Stobarts, got in a cab one shift and it stank of dope, refused to drive it as id have been as high as a kite, then another shift I was delivering to Gainsborough store on nights and some local teenage thug came running over to me as I was stopped at a set of temporary lights and threw a small plastic bag full of dog crap at the drivers window, unfortunately the window was down a crack and so the crap dripped down the inside of the window and I had the pleasant smell of dog crap all the way back to Goole.
What agency run out of there?

Every agency within 40 miles
Thanks but that doesnāt really help.
driving outta goole aint so bad, the works steady and youll very rarely be pushed hard or hear from a planner apart from when you go to the desk at start of shift, after a run or shift end. In my 2 years there i had maybe 3 calls (and 2 where simply to drop the trailer i had at VMU when i got back. The worst part of the job is you may have to drive a white tesco axor limited to 50MPH, rest of trucks are manual scania ScabbyG
s with a few 6 leggers. I did a year on agency there and about same on books. Theres nothing between the 2 paywise apart from yo wont get cancelled if your on books. if loads drop agency are dropped at flip of a hat on little or no notice.
Actually been in Goole all this week and seems busy (even a few subbies in already usually dont see them till november), Not sure what agencies are in there atm, can look monday if tha want, but know Zest and Prestige have drivers in there for definate. any question drop us a PM
P.S. if you do go there dont wear nice boots/shoes, The trailer floors are manky lmao

If you ask ANY agency if they deal with Tesco Goole, they will immediately tell you that they are the lead agency in that yard.
Phone another agency and theyll also tell you the same, EVERY agency I
m aware of within 40 miles has tried to wrangle that contract and lost
So long as you`ve got a license and a pulse anoyone will have you booked on for a shift within minutes
last week goole had 10 lorries moved from newark,

He wasnāt lying. Well kind of. Its every agency within 60 miles. Honestly every single agency in Yorkshire has work for Goole because theyāve peeād off just about every agency driver within a 60 mile radius of the place. Some people like it such as a driver at our spot I was talking to last night but heās a little quirky.
From what I gather a lot end up going to Donny because Donny is 100% agency drivers - no employees.

What a sad state of affairs.
It was bound to happen, perfect storm in a teacup. Tesco drivers get screwed over when Stobarts takes over and refuse to work for Stobarts and in Donny thereās a lot of the old āall together ladsā comeraderie left over from the pit days so Stobarts to some extent got blacklisted by the workforce. Now thereās plenty of work about the agency lads in that end of the world can choose not to go there as well which is why youāll have an agency supplying Goole sending drivers who are prepared to travel to Donny. That or you get put in Donny by the back door starting your shift at Goole, doing a short transfer to Donny and then running the rest of the shift from there.

Donny would be ideal, only 20 mins from me

discounting the recent Stobart bonuses, the pay elsewhere in the district is better too, which is another reason Goole Struggles to attract drivers.
I once turn up there for a shift via Zest, only to find out that I shouldve been in there the day before. Zest did tell me to go on the day I did, but communication between Zest and Goole failed, but I went home & got paid 8hrs. Besides for me its probably 20+ miles each way travel to Goole from where I live near the Stockyard, which doesn
t make it highly profitable once travel costs are factored in.

Donny used to have the reputation of 8hrs shifts max, with only a 6hr daily guarantee.
A lot of the regular long term agy guys I encounter travel from various parts of Sheffield, and when the 6hr guarantee was in it wasn`t worth them going to Donny for £60+ a shift

Doncaster CDC doesn`t have any trucks there and as part of the redundancy agreement with the ex tesco drivers there wont ābaseā a unit there for 24 months i believe. All work going out of donny trucks are āsuppliedā from different depots (mostly Goole but sherburn, newark, middlesborough also supply trucks as well a trampers who are in area)

What these stobart bonuses of late Pierre ,there paying there drivers £50 bonus for this month if they work aover time shift( maybe extended ) but I never heard of any other bonuses being offered
A mate of mine was there recently (agy) working fri, sat, sun nights and he was given a £50 bonus for turning up
