Of journalism is renowned for having little to no facts about what’s actually happened. They don’t know so they can only report the bare minimum. Being right in the town centre, I would expect the incident to be on one or several cameras.
Sadly a young life snuffed out and the driver, guilty or not, will have to live with his/her actions.

They need to make changes for cyclists and a few enforceable laws, and enforce them, as always get the ■■■■■ going from path to road, path to road, even had one come back on road half way down my trailer, after sudden crowd came round corner… as driver, what are we meant to do… as would of given space overtaking, but not possible when riding like a prick, and that was Manchester, on stupid escooter… even if plod around they would do sweat-f-a
Let’s hope he has a forward facing camera and cameras all around to hopefully prove his innocence. And also hopefully catch the cyclist driving like a cyclist does though red light in and out of traffic on there phone etc
