Has anybody ever used a HGV or Commercial Vehicle auction?
If so, what was your experience like? Any pros/cons?
Interested to know also whether anybody has ever purchased from Ireland, UK or Europe and had to arrange cross-sea transport.
I worked for a new start company who had bought 2 from an auction in leeds…i got sent there to pick one up…go pick up a low loader from derby, and go back and put the other unit on the back…i picked out the best one, that had odd tyres, 2 not legal, inside was mud everywhere…rusty wheels etc etc…oh and a cracked windscreen that wouldnt get through an mot…i wont bore you with what happened…but he got rid of them and lost money in doing so…and ended up with a couple of sensible ones ready for work…
I think it’s luck of the draw you might get a bargain you might get a whole pile of trouble,some people will push them through the auctions just to get rid or you might get a decent truck because it been put through due to insolvency,we’ve bought from CVA at Doncaster and we’ve had both
