I’ve pulled some show trailers and you’re talking hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of kit. For that type of work you’re usually put up in b&b’s for the duration of the shows. All you’ve got to do is pull a few levers and they open up. Then just keep the generator running and don’t get caught having a ■■■ in front of the client or customers. It’s interesting work but not for everyone as you can be away for a week or more if doing European stuff.

I have an assessment booked next week with a local general haulage firm. They actively recruit new passes on the basis they can be trained the “company” way. He said its easier to get someone in who has no idea how to do things and show their way than someone who has done the job previously and has “their” own way of doing things.
