Anyboby rememder when Hewsons ran Atkinsons in their blue livery before they went red and white/green and white (Giltspur)?

Oh yes indeed, remember the blue livery very well. Also remember the Dodges which were in the blue livery.

None stop all the way that ■■■■■■■■■ what a sound  you didn’t need an air horn, people herd it miles away.

1974 and Bullens are going up the road again. The lads are just doing their pre flight checks and adjusting the brakes.

Nice one Wheelnut !

Taffy loading hull docks.
kind rgds dean ( taffys son) for passing on these pictures.

JohnyRose63:

That one is great John. I need to nick it for Dave Wilsons facebook page. :stuck_out_tongue:

Top pictures again Jonnyrose, thank you.
Remember the Atki 6 leggers, even now they look like a rare beast.Hewson’s seemed proud of it too (!) The F88 is in the revised livery so assuming it is post Bullens ownership into the Pete Everingham ownership of the firm.
Keep them coming !

Hi all just thought i would bring this one back,my dad used to work for them Wes (Bill) Farrow. If i can get this scanner to work will post the picture’s i have.
Anyone out there remember Lal,Ginger,Bernard,Malc Adams.I worked with Lal and Malc at Hygena

Kev. I would love to read Lal Drury’s tales from the Howdenshire Gazette again. Remember Madam Volvo on her trips to Italy?

And of course your dad was at Bill Malcys

Malc.

Some of you will remember my quest to find these elusive diaries about Madam Volvo, well I have just learnt that it wasn’t Lal who wrote them but his brother Len Drury, so that may make it easier to track down.

It was Lals son Mike who gave me this important information.

A selection of embarrassing photos here. Nivek, are you there? :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

I am Malc, on the left rear…all that hair

Well done Wheelnut, yet more pictures found !

Ringrose:

Malc… the sponsored bike ride from Edinburgh to Howden what a laugh, when the going got tough Sal would throw a rope out of the van in front and pull us up the hill’s.

We where sponsored by a brewery and Canada dry, i remember a car driver reporting us to the police saying we where all over the road and drunk…
