Heron Foods

If anybody is interested Heron Foods Hull are advertising for drivers, again, £27000 plus a few bonuses i.e £1000 accident free bonus (assume that’s PA) +£120 tacho infringement free, per month?.

What worries me about Heron is they advertise almost every other week.

Probably because the jobs the pits.

Heavy pallets/cages off tail lifts over uneven ground into crappt high street/shopping prescinct stores with poor access. Probably have to be in places at the crack of dawn to park so daft I clock starts… Oversized ‘blunder bus’ rigids and artics too big for the drops…

Bet I’m pretty warm with my presumptions here. Wouldn’t do that sort of work for £27k unless it was 6-2 Mon-Fri.

120 pound for no infrigments per month? For ■■■■■■■■ never heard eh anything like that in my puff. I’ve no had any infrigments for going on 4 year now could have earned over 5k with this mob

They do. I go into Hull with a load between 2 and 4am and there’s a steady train of them heading in the other direction between those times. 1, 2, 3am start times - so working both night and day shift in one. Nice. :frowning:

You can take Heron out of Hull but you can’t take Hull out of Heron. Now based at Melton, but your typical Hull firm. Money sounds ok until you do the job. Bad shifts, bad start times and terrible access to a lot of their shops. Always advertising for Drivers and even struggle to get agency drivers to cover their shifts. If you take into account the above then £27500 per annum plus bonuses is pretty poor.

I thought it might be that type of job, but I thought someone might find it better than nothing if they were out of work, NISA here in Scunthorpe is the same type of crap job, but some do like it, I didnt and as I am now retired on ill health I wont ever have to drive another truck for any body, and I dont miss it, not one little bit, no VOSA, no Cops, no Tachos, no POA, no working time directive, no CPC.
