Hi, just looking at your site, 2 hauliers I dont think youve yet mentioned are John Weaver, at Staunton on Arrow and Graham Steadman. John Weaver used to run a cracking green Scania 141, one of only a few 141s that I remember,the others being Crowthers and Winstan Williams of Lloyney. 380 bhp back in the 70s was big horsepower esp when 240 bhp was the norm. I remember going up the Birdlip with a 111 overtaking most things,but getting sharply out of the way when Winstan came up behind you,smashing chap and still missed.Charlie Davies of Norton (sadly now also passed away) had Winstans old motor,I tried to buy it more than once,but Charlie wouldnt ever sell it, I last spotted it down by Upper Hill a few years ago, does anybody know if it still exists ?

Sprinter most of the time Fin,as it is better to see out of,but have been using the transit the last few days,as the sprinter is clean and I would like to keep it that way for a few days. I will be using my transit more as I want to keep the mileage down on the other,also the transit is worth nothing,so may as well use it until its knackered,which could be quite a while,because it goes as good as when I first had it eleven years ago.Just put a jinx on now…

The reason you never got me Fin was that I was on 30,thats where the Gore boys are on,and I’d just swapped a bit of abuse with one of my mates back down the road.
