as above just bought a payg vodafone dongle
but when try to install it on my packard bell etna-gl model laptop it doesnt recognise it n wont automatically install
and try to search for it manually on laptop and cant find it
i run norton 360 on my laptop dunno if this affects it
anyone any ideas how to overcome this

Disable Norton and try again Norton causes all sorts of problems only had it once came free and got rid of it in one day its Craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap
disabled all norton n still wont auto load n cant find it manually either :-S
If you plug it in, does Windows recognise a device has been plugged in?
If not then it’s possible your USB ports can’t support the dongle.
I’d try the dongle on another laptop or PC to confirm the dongle works.
Incidentally when I do a Google search on your laptop, none of the
first 2 pages of hits are in English. 
You will see it if it is being detected by going into My Computer and seeing removable disk right click on this and you will see a drop down box click on AutoPlay and see what happens.
