Help with dismissal

Hi,
Looking for some advice, I was dismissed for having an accident with an HGV tipper.
The company that I worked for decided to put us through medicals due to the bin lorry accident in Glasgow. It came back that I had Arrythmia, so they told the company that I could not drive and was told to got to the hospital for an ECG. I did and was told its normal for people to have an extra beat of the heart and was told that there was not reason not to drive so started back next day. Couple of weeks later I was travelling up a single track way in a loaded tipper ( the road is wide enough for the tipper giving a tyres width each way), I sneezed twice and felt my front drivers tyre grip the grass and tried to steer out but ended up making it worse and put the lorry on its side abit. Did the usual things phoned transport and explained and out came h&s from the company depot manager. Things where fine the took me back to the depot and I sat down with the H&S man told them what happened and filed in a report and was told to go home as there was no other truck(this was on the Tuesday). Got a phone call to say that my truck was at the workshop so stay at home, the next day got a visit from the Depot manager and H&S man basically told me that my tacho was ok and that they had a reflection of me in windscreen from the on board camera facing forward when it happened (the tacho showed that I was doing 20mph and when I clipped the grass that I was steering and used my brakes). On the Thursday evening I got call from Manager asking how I was and I told him that I would pop into depot for a casual talk, so I went in and was told he wasn’t in can I come back later so I did to find out that I was meeting HR and that he was firing me after investigation and didn’t need to give me a reason as I only worked 10 months with them. To make it worse I was told to go to my doc for check and I did only to find out that the occupation health had told him I blacked out and have to go through test since. Sorry for being as long

Do things properly.

Sympathy with you mate, we’re all only one step away from suffering the same fate.
One of our drivers passed out at the wheel, was taken to hospital and because it was described as a black out, DVLA revoked his hgv licence for 5 years.

Most…

Not all but ‘most’ firms, will be able to cease your employment with them for any reason they see fit for 12 months from commencement.

I think that’s unfair but, that seems to be the way many firms operate these days.

Any form can end your employment within the first 2 years without giving you a reason and there’s little
You can do. (Unless it’s for racial or ■■■■■■ discrimination)

Seems very little you can do in this situation.

Would love to know what you mean by you put the tipper on its side ‘A bit’

Don’t worry yourself fella, I get dismissed all the time.

Got more uniform than Arco.

What county is the OP in? The driver facing camera and “disciplinary process” sound like a firm near me.

Tipper on its side a bit, did you mean it was upside down ?
But the mirrors are o.k.
I hope the load of loose sand was ratchet strapped down .
