Hi all , I was working for manpower at Royal Mail for about six months but then per temps took the contract over, I was tuped over to then but when I went to register they said they couldn’t use me there cus I don’t have 2 years exp , I can’t understand how I can work there for manpower but not per temps is the 2 years upto agency , where do I stand because I thought being tuped meant they had to keep u on

Manpower down here “don’t want any more ex-Royal Mail drivers” which is either because they’ve been flooded out with staff leaving places like Twelve Trees and Nine Elms, or maybe they just didn’t like me personally. It happens. 
I still get in there Christmas time with my current agency though, so ask me if I’m bothered…

I wouldn’t of thought you have been TUPED if you needed to register ? In anycase i don’t think you have a lot of rights after six months employment with regards to them retaining you
I was Tuped . Any way guess ill look for something else just don’t think I’ll get anything with the same rates
Unfortunately i dont think their will be much you can do about it although may wish to seek advice if a member of a trade union or a employment law firm.
Tupe only applies to an individual/s who have transfered from one employer to another sadly the agency work in which you where undertaking doesn,t fall into thsi category.

Transfer of undertakings for protection of employment
You can be Tuped as an agency driver because you are Employed by one agency theN Tuped to the new agency . Some are employed by agency so this is possible
I dont think temp workers have rights

You’ve been working for Royal mail through the agency for some time now.
I would assume you know who the main man is in the RM office. Just ask him if he’s been happy with your work and what’s the chance of getting a start direct for Royal mail? Or do they use other agencies.
I can’t see there being an issue with insurance, The agency don’t insure the lorries, Royal mail do. So if you’re not insured now, You wouldn’t have been insured before. It looks like you’re being replaced by someone cheaper.

I spoke to manpower about this most other drivers have been in there years think its only me and 1 other with less than 2 years.
I have tried to go full time but they haven’t taken any full time drivers on since 2008 at Birmingham where I was working as no one leaves and if they do they recruit in house
