ok i need help, but before i ask i know its a touchy subject for some folks. BUT i need a copy of the software for the DTS mk2 hourguard.
ive recently rebuilt my PC but cannot find the ickle disc with the software on. if anyone has a spare copy, or can zip it and email it to me. PM me and Ill sort out a contact addy
ive finally found the disc that came with the timer, but it seems that it wont run under windows Vista O/S. seems the USB driver is incompatible.
anyone been able to get it to work on a PC running vista?
Vista “ouch” a bit of a pig to play with, now this may sound silly but I have found that turning of all or most of the security setting’s helps whlst instaling some programs & then turn them back on after. If this dont work then your buggered if your only pc is vista, Got a freind with XP?

I doubt you’ll have much luck with that any time soon Pierre.
If I remember correctly, there where a few bugs in the firmware of the Mk2. By the time Davey got things sorted he’d sold to DTS, who really let things go. DTS would now be the people to have responsibility for getting the drivers up-dated to Vista. Going by their past record, the chances of that happening are slim to zero.
I don’t know about Vista, but XP can emulate 98, to run early games and stuff. Can’t you set Vista to pretend to be XP for certain things, like running this software?
It may help, BUT, if you RIGHT mouse button Click on the setup.exe file or icon, you will get a list, and one of the items is: Run as Administrator. Do this.
For some unknown reason Vista only gives a program full running rights if done this way.
It doesn’t work with everything, but the majority of the time it does.
