This may make me look stupid but if you don’t ask you don’t learn. How do I open the side bit to put the Adblue in in this Daf please

Just pull panel. No catches to twist.
Do you not just pull on the bottom front corner of the deflector to open it?
Never used a DAF but most others are just spring loaded
Pull front edge out/push back edge in. It’ll slide forwards parallel to the bodywork.
Or give Stobarts the keys and come back half hour later and they’ll be taken off by someone missing the pin

…
Made my day that one has.
One hand on the side, one hand on the bottom and give it a sharp pull towards you.
I’m just surprised that on those Dafs, there isn’t a dashboard warning message saying “Side deflector not closed properly” which comes on all the time even when it is.

If you’d given a really heavy pull, then found out after breaking it there was a hidden catch…that would be daft.

Daft is not asking. Hell I’ve been driving trucks over quarter of a century and being agency most of that time have driven loads of different types of truck but I still had to ask someone how to open the bonnet on a new Merc so I could top up the screenwash.
This job covers such a wide scope that you can’t know it all. Better to ask than ■■■■ it up.

Wait until you have to open the bonnet one day

I’ve a solution for that too.
Park on the blindside of the spaces and eventually a Waberers will sort bonnet access
It’s not stupid to ask mate , nobody will have a go at you for asking.

I was on the pumps at DPD over Christmas, deliberately going slow so I could watch a guy open the bonnet on a Merc, as he’d pulled up to fill the washers. He got out, looked over it, then came and asked me!!!
